Respite Care

Are you a carer or loved one who requires a rest?

Carers can sometimes get physically and emotionally tired. It is important that they can have a break so they can be better carers for their loved ones.

Respite care can also benefit those with disability and mental illness by meeting new people, doing new activities and enjoying themselves.

Westpeak offers short stay respite for you to recharge. We take the pressure off you by supplying home style cooked meals, on site daily laundry and 24/7 care. Our goal for those who stay with us for respite services, to ensure there is a successful transition back home. This will allow you to unwind and take some time out for self-care.

Services covered by fees:

  • Personal care assistance – this includes bathing, dressing and toileting as required.
  • Health care assistance – this includes appointments being made, transport needed to appointments (if required)
  • 24-hour staffing
  • Administration and supervision of medications
  • All electricity, gas, water usage and telephone calls.
  • Laundry done weekly.
  • On-site meals prepared for you
  • Purchases of personal needs if the individual is unable to do so themselves.

Staffing

  • All staff have a minimum of the following qualification:
    • Certificates III-IV in aged care/individual support, mental health and/or disability.
    • All staff have current first aid certificate(HLTAID003) and all staff are required to keep qualifications updated. Staff will get reminders when certificates need to be renewed. Westpeak is committed to the training and development of the staff at all of the sites.
  • All staff are trained professionals who undergo a precise interview process before being selected to work for Westpeak. All staff are reference checked and police checked regularly to give you and your loved one’s peace of mind. We honor ourselves on having professional and considerate staff members.

Medications

Medications are delivered weekly by the pharmacy. Medications will arrive in a Webstar pack for staff to administer to you.

A clean and happy environment

  • We will handle all laundry – this includes washing and drying of clothes. Where preferred, laundry may be done by families.
  • Regular cleaning and vacuuming of communal areas and bedrooms.
  • Assistance with making the bed if required.

Food & Nutrition

  • Every meal is prepared on the premises by our highly skilled staff and using the freshest ingredients from local butchers, produce stores and also from the vegetable gardens on site (if applicable).

Gardens
